Popular Nigerian actress, Ini Edo, recently opened up about her past marriage, expressing candid regrets and sharing her thoughts during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
Ini Edo, known for her accomplished acting career and film production, openly discussed her feelings about her journey down the aisle. She got married to Philip Ehiagwina, an American-based businessman, on November 29, 2008. Unfortunately, their marital bliss lasted only five years, leading to their eventual divorce in 2013.
When asked about her regrets, Ini Edo admitted that marrying at that particular time was not a wise decision. She wholeheartedly confessed, “I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t the right move to make.”
Despite her regrets, Ini Edo expressed her willingness to give marriage another chance if the right person comes along.
On the topic of motherhood, Ini Edo shared her reasoning behind her choice to pursue surrogacy. She explained that after experiencing multiple miscarriages, she became tired of the heartbreak and decided to explore alternative options. Since she didn’t have a husband at the time, she thought, “Why not have a child for myself, whether I have a husband or not? What other options do I have?” Additionally, she wanted the child to be biologically hers, and fortunately, her eggs were viable, which led her to proceed with surrogacy.
